New Belgium Lips of Faith Tasting September 13th

Join us for a tasting of Lips of Faith beers from New Belgium. Lips of Faith series beers are unique, complex, and often hard to find. New Belgium often uses unconventional brewing techniques and ingredients to create one of a kind beers for their Lips of Faith series. Here is a  list of the four beers we will be pouring this Thursday:

Tart Lychee:

ABV -7.55%,  IBU -20, Hops -Target, Malts -Pale, Malted Wheat, Caramel-80, Carapils, Oats, Fruits/Spice -Lychee, Cinnamon, Body -Medium-Light, Aroma -Citrus, sweet lychee and cinnamon tones, Mouthfeel -Puckering and very dry, Flavor -Very fruity with earthy, nutty undertones. Both sour and sweet combined!, Visual -Pours a cloudy orange with a faint haze.

Cocoa Mole Ale:

Hops -Target, Malts -Pale, C-80, Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Fruits/Spice -Cocoa, Chili, Cinnamon, Body -Medium - Full, Aroma -Chocolate, lots of roasted red chilis, Notes of dried dark fruits, Mouthfeel -Medium body with lots of lingering heat from chilies and 9% ABV – OLE!, Flavor -Bittersweet chocolate, red chili flavor and heat- porter de mexico!, Visual -Deep mahogany with hints of cranberry red, creamy dense head with strong lacing.

Bretta Beer:

ABV -7.5%, Hops -Target, Centennial, Sorachi Ace, Malts -PaleBody -Medium, Aroma -Tropical overripe pineapple/lemon and tropical fruits, nice pleasant malt and some spicy clove phenols, Mouthfeel -Starts out luscious fruity and then ends like a Flintstone’s vitamin (fruity and drier), Flavor -Soft tart/citric character from both the hop and the wild yeast. Some sweet bready and honey notes, Visual -Hazy pale golden straw with pillowy foam.

Biere de Mars:

ABV -6.2%, IBU -22, Calories -195, Hops -Target, Willamette, Cascade, Malts -Pale, C-80, Oats, Wheat, Carapils, Fruits/Spice -Lemon Peel, Lemon Verbena, Body -Medium - Full, Aroma -Sweet earthy pineapple, lemony citrus and gentle hop character. Sweet citrus with notes of phenolic clove, Mouthfeel - Creamy, full mouthfeel with a pleasant tart finish, Flavor -Notoriously difficult to describe! Sweet/tart citrus, honey and caramel maltiness subtle hop bitterness and slightly fruity across the palate, Visual - Very hazy, celestial orange glow, great foam.
